Who's Cool?

Grant thought he was looking pretty good when he was wearing mommy's sunglasses. And by golly, he was right! We are currently enjoying the company of Adam's family and can't wait to post pictures to show how much fun we are having!

Chocolate Covered Goodness

So Grant helped me make chocolate covered strawberries. Okay, he really just helped eat them. He thought he was being so sneaky!
Mmmm, that tastes good!
Grant quickly discovered that eating chocolate out of the bowl was much more tasty.
No time for spoons!
Yup, that was pretty good. But wait, I think he might need some more. It's always a good day when chocolate is involved.

Halloween

We love Halloween at our house! Grant has enjoyed all of the window stickers, hanging ghosts and pumpkins. Grant is constantly asking to see a "boo" (aka ghost). He also loves to tell me: "Mommy! Bats...in da sky!"
Last Saturday we carved our pumpkins. Grant calls pumpkins "owies" because one scratched him when we bought it and there is no way he is going to call it by its correct name now! He didn't love pulling out the inside of the pumpkin (he's like his daddy) but he sure enjoyed putting stuff in it once it was cleaned out.
Here are the finished products. Grant's puppy has been completed for a while. I saw the idea in Pottery Barn Kids and loved it but was not willing to spend the money. So, a quick trip to Michael's and $1 later...TaDa! Adam chose a Ghostbusters theme and I tried to be creative even though no one ever gets it. Come on people... B plus an arrow = Barrow! Anyway, they got moldy and we had to toss him. So sad!

A Day in the City

We took Naenae and Papa (Grant calls him Pots) up to San Francisco one of the days they were here. They had never been to Fort Point Cove right under the bridge. The fort dates back to Civil war times. It is pretty amazing and has a sweet view from the top.
Grant loved the suegees (translation: seagulls) the most. He also liked climbing on everything.
Especially the canon balls (ya, he probably shouldn't have been touching those but when he bats those blue eyes he can get away with anything).Bug was enthralled with watching the "kite" (aka the person para sailing). It looked like so much fun!
What else did Grant love? Watching the sea lions. He loves to imitate them and does a pretty good job.
Mr. Independent here looking at the sea lions.
He probably could have stayed there all day long. But if he would have done that he would have missed the sports store and oh how he loves that place! He convinced Naenae and Pots to buy him a Red Sox bat, ball and mitt.
We always get a kick out of the museum on the pier that has a bunch of old arcade games. Grant had fun riding the horse despite the fact that it looks like his eyes are rolling back into his head. Giddy-up!

Go Cardinals!

While Naenae and Papa were here, we did tons of fun stuff. One of the highlights was the Stanford vs. TCU game. Unfortunately, Stanford lost. It was fun to get decked out in Stanford gear and cheer our local team on. Don't worry, we are still true blue fans!

Grant enjoyed yelling ball and thoroughly enjoyed mommy's hot dog. He was a good sport and we will definitely go again.

Back in Business

Wahoo! We are back in business here at that Barrow household. Can I just say that prayers are answered. Maybe it is silly to pray for a computer to work but I pray over pretty much everything. No, not what shirt to wear in the morning...just what shoes. JK Seriously though, I am so thankful that Heavenly Father hears and answers prayers. I am amazed everyday at how blessed my family is. Anyway, it's great to be back! And Katie, I will get right on the game of tag (as soon as I think of what to say). :-)

Hiatus

You might be wondering why we have been taking a break from blogging. Well, it is not by choice. You see, things have been busy and then...someone spilled water on the computer. Hint: it was not Adam or Grant. It's true, I was in a hurry, went to type something really fast and my water bottle spilled all over the place. BLAST! Anyway, we will try to get back in business as soon as we can. Tonight, Blogger is not cooperating and won't upload pictures. So until next time, TTFN!

Prizes

When Grandma Naenae & Papa come to town, Grant is guaranteed to get a plethora of prizes. He isn't too sure about the raincoat.

He kept saying, "Out!" while trying to get it off.

However, he does love his boots. They are so cute! They have little eyes and fins and besides, Grant can make anything look good. Yes, Grant wears his boots with everything and anything. Even with his cape (another prize from N&P). He calls it the man. He really likes it when his stuffed dog Max (yes...another prize) wears the man. Grant insists that Max "Byes" (translates into fly) which means an adult has to run around the room holding an overstuffed, spotted dog. We will have to post more pictures of Grant with all of his other prizes.

Today's Special

We know you are all wondering what Grant has chosen to wear today. Let us end the suspense...
TaDa! It's Super Grant wearing mommy's socks!
Who wouldn't want this superhero to rescue them?!?!

Over The Hill

Yesterday was my birthday and it was a wonderful day. My mom came to visit earlier in the week and then my dad surprised me when he walked through the door Thursday night! I couldn't believe it! We have had loads of fun. Last night we went to The Hungry Hunter in South San Francisco. Grant had fun looking at the lights and lounging in his high chair.

He also had fun flirting with the waitress, Fabiana. Whenever she would walk past he would say, "Cute!" And there were many times during the evening when he would blow her a kiss. He also did that at another restaurant earlier in the day. He made that waitress, Carolina, blush!

Anyway, the food was great but the company was even better. Grant loved the calamari (he calls it mari) and the onions (pronounced uhnee in Grant's world) and of course the waitress and lights.

I couldn't have asked for a better day!

Dressing Up

Grant loves to dress up. No, not in princess clothing (thank goodness)! He likes to wear Daddy's shirts. Then of course, the ensemble wouldn't be complete without a pajama shirt that has fish on it.

It is amazing how long Bug wants to keep the selected outfit on. He plays with blocks, reads books, but when he asks to go outside...that is where Mommy draws the line. She is a little too prideful.

Getting him to take off the clothes is always a struggle. No worries though, because in no time he will have something new to put on.

Yup, it's true. He is wearing a belt with his Halloween costume. Mommy heard him in his closet saying, "Belt, belt Mommy!" It's a good thing he is so cute. He can pull off anything!

Dr. Barrow

Grant is aspiring to be a doctor. He loves to use the stethoscope and if he sees the thermometer, you better be prepared to get your temperature taken.
Hmmm, Daddy...Mommy isn't joking when she says you're hot! :-)

He is even proficient at taking his own temperature. If you need an appointment call 1.800.DRGRANT

Conference Weekend

Don't you love Conference?!?! Adam & I can't believe that it has already come and gone. As a child, I couldn't wait for it to get over and now I wish that it wouldn't end. Anyway, as usual Grant kept us laughing this weekend. Here are a few of our favorites:

* On Thursday, Grant pulled out the Ensign with all of the talks from April. He found the page with all of the General Authorities and was quick to point out Hincks. We showed him Pres. Monsen and Pres. Faust and explained that Pres. Faust lives with Jesus now (and Naenae's dog Wooley). He seems a bit obsessed with Pres. Faust now, maybe because it is easy for him to say. Whenever you mention Pres. Hinckley, Grant asks for Foust. Last night we taught him how to say Eyring. Then tonight, we were trying to get him to say Monsen and Eyring. After naming each of them he said with a smile, "Hincks!" We were impressed he associated the counselors with Pres. Hinckley!
*During one of the talks we were sitting on the couch. Mommy started saying the 1st Article of Faith slowly to see if Bug would repeat any of it. When she said, "...in His Son Jesus Christ" pause...Bug said, "Amen!"

* Mommy or Daddy: "Grant, what does a squirrel say?" Grant: "Beeda, beeda, beeda!" There ya have it folks.
We also did a lot of organizing this weekend. Part of that included putting away summer clothes and pulling out sweaters. Grant was quick to help. He seemed to especially enjoy the empty container that he could 'swim' in.
Mommy sneezed and Grant reinacted it. AAATCHOO!!!
Here is Grant taking a break from swimming laps in the huge pool.

Dump Truck

Lately, the only thing this dump truck holds is Grant. He loves to climb in and out of it and he especially likes it when he gets pushed around in the truck.
Grant has also learned what to do when he is told to, "Say Cheese!"

Another thing Grant loves...bikes! Whenever he sees someone on a bike he informs me that one is passing by. Come to think of it, while driving in the car I hear the words bike and bus (that's another story) maybe a million times. Okay, that's an exaggeration. But why am I talking about bikes when this post is titled Dump Truck, you ask? Well, it's because I walked in to the room and found Bug sitting on his truck like this. He gave me a big smile and said, "Bike!"
Sure sweetheart- it can be whatever you want it to be. :-)
What will he think of next?

Grant & His Sidekick

Here is Grant and his sidekick Mason, aka Batman, enjoying some Capri Suns. The Capri Suns are actually a new kind...flavored water. I was surprised it tasted so good. Thanks for sharing Mason and Tereasa. I think Grant enjoyed the experience.
Mason will be moving this weekend and I am sure Grant is going miss him tremendously. He is constantly asking for Mace. Hopefully they will still be able to see each other once in a while.
