Silly Boy

It's been a while since I've posted funny/interesting things that Grant has been saying. So I thought I would do a main post with some good stuff. Here ya go:

* Grant was in our room and made up a little song that went like this: "Indian Chief in da tree, comin' a see da moon! Mickey Mouse...Bob da Builda!" He really likes to hold the last note, too. It is hilarious!

* I have been known to tell Grant that he is so cute I could just eat him. The other day, he walked up to me and tilted his head, then asked, "Mommy? You wanna taste Grant?" So he got lots and lots of kisses!

* "Oh, daddy Adam!"

* "You're mommy Jati!"

* Grant was reading a book and I asked him who sent it to him. He said, "Nae, Nae" then paused and said, "Atchally, Grandma B."

* He walked up to a plant (Bird of Paradise) and said to it, "You're a Bird of Pearpadise."

* Grant and I were reading a Bob the Builder Book he got from the library that talks about porcupines. Poor Grant kept calling them pineapples. I would correct him and he would get it right for a few seconds then go back to calling them pineapples. I can see how they could be easily confused.

* Grant's favorite new thing to say is, "I don't sink so." He says it really fast. So, we're shopping at my favorite store, Janie and Jack, and I asked him if he liked a shirt and he looked at it and said, "Mmmm, No. I don't sink so! Can we go find pigeons?"

Father and Sons Campout

Two weekends ago, Adam took Grant camping. I was so excited for them but I was also extremely nervous and a bit sad that I didn't get to go. Grant has only been away from me once before and he was 7 weeks old so it's like it never happened. :-) Anyway, Grant was so excited! He kept telling everyone he was going camping and that he had to go to Target to buy a tent.
Here are my adorable boys getting ready to leave. Grant couldn't wait to "go on a date" with daddy. As you can see he was trying to jump out of Adam's arms to get in the car. So, needless to say, they got in the car and left and I went in the house and cried. I seriously didn't know what to do with myself. I missed Grant's laughter, the sound of his little footsteps, hearing "mommy" every five seconds and yes, in some ways...I even missed the tantrums.
However, Grant did not seem to think twice about me. He helped daddy put up the tent then he wanted to hang out inside it and jump on the air mattress. He had fun seeing, "da boys" and he got to roast a marshmallow but "it too hot so we not eat it!"
Grant kept asking about camels. "Where the camels go?" "Where the camels are?" Ummm, maybe on a different continent or at the zoo? Adam said there was a large tree stump or something in the distance that kind of looked like a camel so I guess that is where that came from.
This picture pretty much sums up how Grant felt about the entire experience! What a lucky little boy to have such a great daddy! Who else would take a 21 month old camping...alone?!?!?
Grant also loved playing in the dirt and leaves and was continually asking Adam, "What dis called?"
Camping is hard work! I was so glad to see my boys when they got home and I've decided that the next Father and Son's outing will include me- dressed up as a man if needs be!
