Little Flirt

My best friend, Nancy, is in town while I am here. She currently lives in Missouri and I miss her and her family a ton! Nancy and I used to pretend we were sisters. Wait a minute, we still pretend we are. Here are some pix of Grant and Nancy's adorable girls.

In Order: Grant, Emma, Clara (we call her Mae Mae), and Eliza.
I think Grant was in heaven being surrounded by 3 beautiful girls. Here he is getting ready to smooch Mae Mae.

Super Grant

We have decided to let you all in on a little secret- Grant has super powers! That's right...he is super cute! While he was getting toys out of Grandma Naenae's closet he found a cape and handed it to me so that I could put it on him. It cracked me up because he only had on his diaper and cowboy hat (he loves that hat).

He's off...
Even Super Grant needs a break. Time for a snack and a good signing video.

Papa takes Grant to the Rodeo

Well, we are currently in UT and Grant is having tons of fun! On the 23rd Papa took the family to the Days of '47 Rodeo and boy did Grant love it! He is totally obsessed with horses. Papa and Grandma Naenae got Grant some neat cowboy gear. He has a hat, boots, wranglers and a belt and he sure looks cute.
Papa and Grant at the TRAX station.
It was a big night for Bug. His first rodeo and his first "train" ride. CHOO, CHOO!!!
Grant couldn't take his eyes off of the horses. He was also continually making a horse noise during the rodeo.
Here are Uncle Justin and Aunt Cassandra. He proposed at the rodeo...it was awesome. Congrats you two!
And here is Grant eating a snack...can he get any cuter?

Mommy's Hair Salon

Today I cut Grant's hair. It ended up a bit shorter than I had planned but I think with a little practice I will be giving Cubby Cuts a run for their money. Truth be told, I might have shed a tear because now his hair doesn't get as curly and he seemed a little traumatized when I used the clippers. He did okay with the scissors on top...kind of. Anyway, no matter what-he is adorable!
Seriously though, what was I thinking when I decided to cut his hair 2 days before we go to UT to visit family and also right before his 1 year old pictures?!?! Perhaps it was poor judgement or just plain stupidity. :-)

Coach Grant

Every morning we go running as a family and Grant has come to expect that. Today as we put on our shoes Grant said, "Run, run, run!" We told him that he was right and that we were going to go running. Once he was in his stroller and we were heading down the road he started yelling, "Run, run, run!!!" He continued to do that periodically so Adam appointed him to be our running coach. It is pretty hard to stop running when a 1 year old is yelling at you!

Half Moon Bay

Grandma Naenae came for Grant's birthday so we decided to head out to Half Moon Bay for a beach day. It was loads of fun!

While we were there Grant tasted some sand but also enjoyed some seaweed. He loved the water even though it was a bit cold

Hubba Hubba Grandma Naenae. Grant was glad to hang out with Grandma at the beach.

We found a jelly fish (don't worry...it was dead so it didn't sting us) :-)

We also found a dead crab. Grant met some friends named Owen and Haden at the beach and they were excited to place the crab on top of their sand castle.

And of course Grant's favorite thing to play with... mom and Naenae's flip flops.

Dancin' in the Street

Every Wednesday during the summer, Sunnyvale blocks off a street downtown and has a band play. It is a blast! There are also a bunch of vendors selling food and other stuff. It is fun to go and mingle with the huge crowd. Here a some pictures of Grant dancing by the band. Everyone (and I do mean everyone) loves to watch Grant and they comment on how cute he is. We wish you could see him in action. Enjoy the pictures of Grant jammin' in his jammies!

So Cute

We took a vote and decided that we have the cutest kid in the world. Wanna argue...you know how to contact us!
We wrote down all the words that Grant can say. So far we are at 76! Amazing! He can also make 9 animal sounds. Let's sign him up for college. :-)

Day at the Beach

We took a trip down to Santa Cruz to have some fun in the sun. Grant loved it and only took a few bites of sand and a tiny sample of ocean water. Yummy! He didn't get a chance to try the seaweed. Maybe next time.

It is difficult to walk in the sand. Grant quickly found that out when he fell and was covered in sand. How does it taste Bug?

Silly Boy

Our Bug is so silly! He loves to put blankets and clothes over his face and then walk around. He thinks it is hilarious when he slams into a wall or the couch or when he trips over a toy and face plants. Sounds like fun doesn't it? It definitely makes us laugh!

4th of July

For the 4th of July we went up to San Francisco. It was extremely crowded but we enjoyed ourselves. We had a picnic at a park that was in Adam's area and then headed down to Fisherman's Wharf. A good time was had by all.
Grant enjoyed coloring at Johnny Rocket's while he waited for his grilled cheese sandwich.
Alcatraz is in the background.

So many people stopped to look at Grant. We considered putting something in front of him to collect money but we didn't want to put the street performers out of business.
We decided this hat was too big so we went with the Boston Red Sox hat. Naenae will be excited
Big Herc and Little Herc by a ship named in their honor.
Playing in the water by the wharf.
We are pretty sure Grant could have stayed there all day.
Grant and Daddy on the 4th of July. Take note of the freshly painted wall behind them. Yes...my new profession is that of a painter.

Geoffery's B-Day Club

Grant and I went to Toys R Us to get Adam a birthday gift. While we were there I signed Grant up for the Birthday Club. Since his birthday is coming up he got a crown, a balloon and a gift card.

He has enjoyed playing with the crown and balloon. Here he is with Daddy. Daddy refused to wear the crown on his birthday.

Member of the Birthday Club or a deer in the headlights?

Who knew that a balloon and a crown could make a baby so happy.

Dancing in the Park

Grant and I were able to go to Great America Theme Park to watch Sarah (she lives in my mom's neighborhood and was in my primary class a LONG time ago) perform. She did a great job and Grant had a lot of fun.

Grant enjoyed dancing to the music and I am pretty sure that people were watching him more than they were watching the dance performance.

An Artist is Born

Grant has learned how to color. He drew this picture for Adam's family. He seems to enjoy coloring but would prefer to eat the crayons. Good thing they aren't toxic!
