Hottie Sighting
This week I watched our neighbor Mason because his daycare was closed. It was pretty easy when he and Grant were getting along. :-) Anyway, on Wednesday I took the boys to the Palo Alto Junior Museum and Zoo. It was a really neat place and they seemd to enjoy it. Grant surprised me when he saw a goose and knew exactly what it was. All the sudden I heard him yell, "Goose!" It was adorable. He thought the racoons were cats and after trying to tell him that they were racoons a million times I gave up and told him he could call them whatever he wanted to. So anyway, on our way to the museum/zoo we almost got in an accident. A brand new SUV almost ran a stop sign but slammed on the breaks before hitting us. I was a bit upset until I saw Steve Young driving with his wife next to him. I smiled and he waved and I drove away. Then of course I went the wrong way but no worries because I then passed good old Stevie again. He really is a hottie! Don't worry...Adam is fully aware of my obsession! Anyway, here is a picture of the fort that Mason, Grant and I made. I am pretty sure a fun time was had by all.

Our Celebrity Look-alikes
My friend Katie had something like this on her blog. I thought it was funny so I tried it out. I did look like one guy (David Arquette). Grant looked like all girls so I didn't do his. Here is Adams. He also looked like a few other people (including Nellie Furtado- LOL) but it wouldn't let me include them all. If you want a good laugh just go to www.myheritage.com. Good times, good times!

Tid Bits
Grant is learning so much every day. We have stopped counting how many words he knows because it seems like he learns one if not more, every day. He loves to talk with mommy and daddy but gets shy when others are around. However, it doesn't take him too long to warm up. Anyway, we thought we would share some of the fun things Grant likes to do.
* He knows where his head, hair, ears, eyes, nose, mouth, knees, toes and elbows are. He loves to point to them when you name the body part but mostly enjoys pointing to the specified area on mommy and daddy.
* He enjoys using the word blast. :-)
* He has started asking where Daddy is...oh, probably about a million times a day. When he is told that Daddy is at work, he says, "Oh!"
* When he asks where Daddy is, or the cat, or the dog, or a toy, he holds his little hands up, lifts up his shoulders, crinkles his nose, tips his head to one side and has a puzzled look on his face, all while saying, "Where go?" It is honestly the cutest thing we have ever seen!
* He prefers to take just one nap and it is usually NEVER over 45 minutes unless Mommy holds him the entire time.
* He loves basketball and horses.
* He loves to read still
* Did we mention he loves basketball?
* He has discovered Lucky Charms, Trix and Slurpees (or as he calls them: urpees)
* He loves to dance and thinks he is pretty darn cool when he walks backwards (he usually claps for himself afterwards)
Anyway, he is doing tons of other cute things but we don't want to write a novel. It just goes to show that he is indeed the cutest boy ever!

Somersaults
Grant is trying hard to do somersaults all by himself. He is getting so close! He attempts to do somersaults a million times a day (at least it feels like that) and then either falls while trying to roll over or else he waits for me to come flip him over. I'll try to catch it on video and then post it.
And here is Grant after his somersault.

Library
Grant loves the library! Yesterday I told him that we had to go to the library to return his books. He got so excited and started signing and saying, "book, book, book!" I am pretty sure he said that from the time we walked out the door until we walked into the library. As soon as we got to the kids area he started to dance. Then he started to head back to the board books and suddenly paused. I couldn't figure out what he was smiling at until he rushed to a basketball book. That's right, Basketball For Fun! I told him that we needed to put it back since it was for older children. He held on tight and told me no then ran away. There was my answer. He finally gave it up to choose a few more books but I had to bring it home to show Daddy what Grant had found. Adam was so proud! The funniest thing is that Grant loves to read that old school basketball book more than any other one that he brought home. However, I am trying to decide who reads it more- Grant or Adam?!?!?!

Friends
Here are a few pictures of Grant with his friend Mason. Mason is so funny. He is 3 and always wants to come "play" with Grant.
We've decided that Mason really just likes to play with Grant's toys not Grant. Grant does have some pretty cool toys! Actually, Mason now tells his mom that he needs "Jaci time". Question: Why does he say that? Answer: Jaci gives him milk and cookies.
Even though Mason quickly loses interest in Grant, Bug loves to follow him around and really enjoys touching Mason's hair. We have not figured that one out. Bug also loves to give Mason hugs continually. What a sweet, little boy we have!Friday, August 17, 2007

Flirt
Today I took Bug to the park. There happened to be a group of kids around his age there so he decided to head over and play with them. Truth be told, he just wanted their toys and balls. However, he did end up making a lot of friends. There was one little girl that Grant thought was cute. Her name is Mia and she is 15 months. Yes, he goes for older women! He kept trying to hug her and even tried to kiss her. She wasn't all that enthused about the situation and kept trying to run away but Grant kept up. It was so cute to watch. What a little flirt!

Smart and Silly Bug
Grant now recognizes the letters "M" and "G". Let's hope he has filed them in his long term memory! He is still making us laugh every day. His new thing is to put his hands up to his mouth and pretend to laugh. He makes his entire body shake and in turn Daddy and Mommy laugh pretty hard. He still loves to dance. He has learned to do the snake and he enjoys turning in circles. So pretty much, he is the cutest, smartest and funniest kid in the whole world!
We got Grant a big boy potty so that he can get used to it. He loves it because it plays music. He likes to sit on it a few times a day so that is a good sign. Here he is with the box from the potty on his head. He still loves to walk around with things on his head and doesn't even mind bumping into walls. Hmmm, don't ask!

Ride 'em Cowboy
Here is a look into Grant's morning:*He wakes up and talks until Mommy comes in (yes, Daddy is sleeping still and doesn't even know that Mommy has left or that his son has been talking for about 10 minutes) :-)
*He holds up one of the stuffed animals in his crib for Mommy to kiss.
*He and Mommy enjoy an interesting book of Bug's choice.
*Then...without fail...Grant says "Horse? Dad?" Then gets off Mommy's lap to look for the horse as he makes clicking sounds and says, "Neigh!"
*He is distracted for about 3o minutes while he fulfills his duties as a running coach. After that Daddy has to gallop around the apartment while he holds Grant and the stick horse. Thank goodness Daddy is such a good sport!
Good times! Good times!
Grant wouldn't sit still long enough for Mommy to do up the buttons on his shirt. Some things are just more important.
Another Beach Day
Bug has no fear and wanted to keep going out into the water. He didn't care about how deep it was or how cold it was.

Thanks for the fun day, Daddy!
Plums
Grant loves to go up to the fridge and say, "This" as he points to it. He continues to do it until I open the fridge. Yesterday he found a way to get a plum out of the container. He was so proud of himself. He had a huge smile on his face as he went to take a bite out of it. He paused to look at me to make sure it was okay and then he went for it. I was shocked that he could actually eat it that way. He sat right down and ate half the plum.

What a life!

Brought to you by the letter T
Bug can now recognize the letter T. It is so blasted cute! We first discovered this new phenomenon when we were putting him to bed. You see, his name is on his door and before naps and bed we say each letter of his name while pointing to it. The other night he pointed to the T and said, “T!” We then got out a Barney alphabet book and asked him where the T was. He pointed to it! Then this morning I wrote the word Tall and once again, he pointed to the T. But the best was when we were on our morning walk and we passed a little preschool called the TLC Montessori. All of a sudden I heard Grant excitedly say, “T, T, T!!!” It was too cute! Wish you could all hear it.
Trip to UT
Here is Adam with his cousin Kenzie and her son Aiden.

Grant and I were able to spend some time with Adam's family up in Park City (Grant, Peter and Brian).
He had fun hanging out with Grandma and Grandpa Barrow.
Grandma took him on the Merry Go Round.
And so did Uncle Brian (Uncle Scotty kindly gave Uncle Brian the opportunity to do that).
Grandpa carried Grant around.
And of course it was fun to see all the "big" boys go on rides. A good time was had by all.

Surfs up, Bug!

He can't stand up very long but he thinks he is so cool once he gets the shoes on.
