So you all know that Grant is hilarious...here are a few of the funny things he has done lately (at least we think they are funny):
* I asked Grant if he wanted to be a bat or a giraffe for Halloween. Without missing a beat, he put his pointer finger to his chin and said, "Hmmmm!" (FYI- he isn't going to be either. He will make his debut as a monkey).
*Poor Pres. Hinckley has been called a number of things at our house. Grant loves to look at Pres. Hinckley's picture and at first called him "Hinckey" and then "Hincks" and now he has moved to "Nincks". I think that he is regressing. However, nothing beats what Eliza (now 6yoa) called Pres. Hinckley when she was little and walked past his picture that was hanging on the fridge... "Humpty Dumpty". Yup, that's a classic.
* We read scriptures before bed every night as part of Grant's bedtime routine. We just started Doctrine and Covenants. We started using the books that have pictures because Grant seems to enjoy those more. Well, tonight we were reading about Joseph Smith (Grant calls him "Smath") as a child. There was a picture of Joseph with a sore on his leg. In a bit of a whiny voice, Grant said, "Owie?!?!" Followed by, "Kiss!" He gently bent down and kissed the picture and insisted that I do the same. This continued for about 15 minutes. Even while we were saying prayers Grant was telling me that Smath had an owie.
* We were at the park yesterday and there were some children speaking french. I was able to ask them a few questions in french (momentary gift of tongues) and when we left I said, "Au revoir!" Grant echoed that by saying, "Voir!" After that I decided to teach him how to say, "Chow" and I think it is his new favorite word.
* This morning we started counting in Spanish and Bug would copy us. We made it all the way to 10. Way to go Bug!

Is it Halloween Yet?
This post is for Aunt Megan. Yes, I dyed my hair and it turned out a LOT darker than it was supposed to. But have no fear, even though it was black at first...it has lightened up. I don't love it but I have to live with it for a while. Have I learned my lesson? Probably not. Thank goodness Halloween is right around the corner. I am just getting ready a little bit early!

Make Believe
Grant loves to play make believe. He has been doing it for a while but it is getting to be a constant thing. This morning, he took one of his stuffed animals and put it in the highchair then proceeded to feed it with one of his forks. He got a cup and gave it a drink. I asked if he needed to wipe the dogs face and apparently he did because he got the dish towel and wiped the dogs face ever so gently (Is that a run on sentence? Probably...most likely the blog is full of them!) He then took the dog out of the chair and hugged him, patted him, and gave him a kiss. It was too adorable.
While I was cooking dinner, Grant got a measuring cup from the drawer and went to give his horse a drink. He even makes little sounds while he does it to imitate the horse drinking the water. Earlier in the day he had taken some food he had in his hand over to the horse. He held his hand out flat, just the way he did it with the real horse by Grandma Naenae's. Thank goodness someone feeds the rocking horse. Otherwise, he might waste away.

I Don't Wanna Grow Up
Grant has rediscovered one of his old toys and has told us, "I don't wanna grow up!"
That's right, he grew out of this toy 6 or 7 months ago...maybe even longer. We put it away in the closet but then he spotted it and now it gets pulled out every day.
He loves to climb in it and play with all the gadgets. It can entertain him for quite a while. As long as he is happy, right?!?!

Nana Carmel
On the way up to Petaluma, Bug was able to catch a few Zzzzzzzz's.
We went to Olive Garden and then headed back to Nana's to visit.
Grant LOVED Nana's cat, Luciano. Unfortunately, Luciano didn't reciprocate the feelings. He let Grant touch him for a few seconds then went and hid under the bed. Smart cat!
On the way home, we stopped in Corte Madera to let Grant stretch and to try to keep him awake. Adam quickly spotted this De Lorean and just had to have his picture by it. Standing by a De Lorean isn't as cool as the time my dad took him for a ride in one!A Walk on the Bridge
We had to go up to San Francisco to do a few things today. After we were done, we headed up to Petaluma to see Nana Carmel. On our way, we decided to stop by the bridge to let Grant walk on it.
He seemed to enjoy it. He kept going up the fence saying, "Boat! Toot, Toot!"
Adam was a bit nervous at first but then realized that as long as we stayed by the area with a chain link fence...Grant would be safe.
Lots of people stopped to get a look at the cutest boy on the bridge. Or should I say the cutest boys on the bridge.
This is my favorite. It was a good day!

Evel Knievel
As you know, Grant loves to climb. On Sunday, he was climbing in and out of his wagon and even managed to stand on one edge with his hands on the other. Unfortunately, we couldn't get the camera on fast enough.

Grant also attempted to climb the wall. Obviously, he was not successful. Where did he even get the idea to climb the wall anyway?!?! Oh that's right, that is what Adam and I do after we eat our Tyson Chicken.

And then, Grant topped the evening off with this...
Now he just needs to learn how to ride it while standing like this!

Chivalry Isn't Dead
Today Grant met some of his friends at the park. Ella is 12 months old and Jules is 3. He had loads of fun playing in the water and going down slides. He even goes down the slides all by himself! When the kids were playing in the water, Ella slipped and fell. Grant rushed over and put his hands on her hips and tried to lift her up. That wasn't working so he grabbed her swimsuit and pulled. When that didn't work, he grabbed her hips again and was able to help her up. It was so cute to watch. Once Ella was up and on her way, he just stood there and smiled at her. Maybe he has a little crush!
Cookie Monster
Grant loves when he gets cookies! Maybe it is because it isn't an every day kind of thing. For family night a few weeks ago we had some chocolate cookies and it was so funny to see his face covered in chocolate.
Aunt Katie (our neighbor and best buddy) loves to bring Grant goodies. Lots of times it is watermelon but once in a while he gets a yummy, chocolatey treat.

Even though Grant loves his goodies...he is willing to share.

I don't really know what to say about this one...

Mr. Stylish
Yesterday it was a bit chilly. Usually the fog burns off by 9:30 or so but yesterday it was replaced by threatening rain clouds that made it necessary for us to wear pants and jackets. I actually enjoyed it! Grant looked adorable and enjoyed wearing the new jacket that Grandma B. bought him.

This is where Grant spends a lot of his time. Glued to the front door, knocking, and saying, "Outside, outside!"

Mountain Climber
Diaper Box (Noun)
Pronunciation: die-pur box
Meaning: A box in which diapers are packaged, stored and sold; a mountain; anything a toddler wants it to be.
Grant loves to climb! He climbs on anything and everything.
Apparently, he thought the diaper box was a mountain.

A mountain that he conquered (kind of).
What a view!
This mountain is also movable. Grant decided he wanted it on the couch . I guess he wasn't high enough on the floor.
I told him that I thought the box should stay on the floor. He didn't agree and got the box on the couch all by himself. I must admit I was kind of proud. It appeared to be a difficult task but when he is determined to do something...there is no stopping him!

Brace yourself! You are about to view some pictures of the cutest boy EVER! I took Grant to The Picture People to get his pictures taken because there is a contest for Yo Baby yogurt. He got a free entry, a free photo shoot and a free 10 x 13 photo. I am all about free stuff!!!! The problem is that now I want to buy every single picture. :-) If you are wondering why there are so many pictures with Grant pulling his classic pose (Where is the _____?), it is because he wanted to know where the horses went. That's right, there were some horse rides outside the studio and he is obsessed with horses. Need I say more? Enjoy! Oh and pardon that every picture has Zazzle across it.

Almost there Bug!
TaDa! He got up and turned around all by himself. Do you think he could have a bigger smile?

He is so cute I just want to squeeze him every second of every day!
Elvis impersonation? Nope.. just Bug trying to jump.
It's hard work being so cute and sometimes Grant just has to kick back and relax.

And he usually wants to eat about 10 in one sitting. Who knew tomatoes could be so tasty!
"Talk to the hand, Mom!"
