5 years ago he was single.

5 years ago I was single.5 years ago, today...Adam waited outside in the freezing, cold rain to propose to me. He was soaking wet, his lips were blue and he could barely talk. But no worries...I warmed him up with a big ole kiss (or two, or three). :-) I love you Adam! Thanks for making me and the kids so happy and thanks for choosing me to be your wife. I am the luckiest girl alive!

Ward Halloween Party

Here are some pix from our ward party. Grant had a blast and keeps exclaiming, "I'm ready for Halloween!" And Grace, well...she was cute as always and extremely tired.

Halloween Costumes

Well, I finally started and finished the kids costumes. They aren't that great- nothing like you Cheer (admit it girl...you've got talent...check out http://cheeribaby.blogspot.com) but the fact that I don't have a sewing machine makes me feel pretty good about the end result of Gracie's costume. Grant had a hard time deciding what to be: a ghostbuster, slimer, a ghost, a cowboy, pretty much anything and everything. He finally decided to be a scarecrow. Yea, something pretty simple. Every time I asked him what Grace should be, he had the same answer, "A mouse!" So, Grace will make her debut as Minnie Mouse...only Gracie is way cuter than Minnie will ever be! We will post pictures of them in the costumes at some point. :-)

Pop Quiz

1. Someone says something mean about the way your child looks. You
A. Walk away in a calm manner
B. Drop kick them
C. Swear at them and then wash the floor with their face
D. Agree with them
E. All of the above except for D
F. None of the above. I will leave a comment that goes into depth about what I would do.

Why the pop quiz you ask? Because some people should not be allowed to speak. Yes it is true...some people should be banned from opening their mouths. Today I met one of those people. I took the kids to Safeway to grab Grace's medicine for her breathing treatments and Grace was crying so I was carrying her while pushing the cart. A middle aged, Caucasian woman came up to us and said, "Oh, a baby!" I turned so that she could see Grace (since Grace's back was facing her) and the lady got an odd look on her face and said, (in all seriousness) "She looks funny." I was in shock. I should have/could have said a number of things and I really wanted to call her a really bad name but I was in such shock I couldn't speak. She then said in a snotty tone, "What's wrong with her?" I simply said, "Actually, she has Down syndrome and we think she is cute as a button." I walked away and tried not to let her see the tears in my eyes and tried even harder not to knock her teeth out. Anyway, luckily most people aren't that rude and luckily for the lady, I had Grant with me or else things might not have turned out the same way. Don't worry little butterfly, you are beautiful inside and out! Don't you EVER let ANYONE convince you otherwise.

2. What would you have done?

A Good Day

Today was a good day. Especially for Grant. It seems that today's theme song was, "C is for cookie. That's good enough for me!" Grant had eaten quite a few cookies so I told him no more and moved them up onto the microwave. I walked out of the kitchen and heard the chair moving. I peeked around the corner and saw him working extremely hard to get the chair in the right place so that he could get up and get a cookie. It was so cute...and he was working so hard...I couldn't stop him.
He was successful in his endeavors.
We also got a special treat when the Ballard's and Ritchie's came to see us. We were all supposed to go to the beach but we backed out when we saw how cold it was supposed to be. We would have loved to go but Grace has been sick. So, the Wymount clan came to us! Aren't they great!
Grant had a blast playing with Madelyn, Celeste and Hadlie.
He would have liked them to stay forever!
It was fun to see them all together. We wish we lived a bit closer to them. Although, an hour drive isn't too bad! Thanks for coming guys!
The other reason it was a good day is because Gracie managed to keep herself out of the hospital. She has been sick for quite a while and I have taken her to the doctor a million times (okay not that many). I took her to urgent care tonight because she had started wheezing and her cough had gotten worse. Adam and I both felt like we should have her checked again even though she started amoxicillin yesterday for a possible ear infection and sinus infection. Well, tonight's visit almost got her admitted to the hospital. She has pneumonia. The doctor initially told me she would have to be admitted so she could get started on IV antibiotics but then he talked with another doctor and they decided that it is mild enough right now that hopefully the amoxicillin will take care of it. Along with some albuterol. If that doesn't work then it's back to the big house for Gracie. She'll pull through for us....she always does! So ya, it was a good day.

October is...

October is National Down Syndrome Awareness Month! In the future we plan on participating in a Buddy Walk™. The Buddy Walk™ is a 1-mile walk to raise funds and awareness, and to promote inclusion and acceptance of individuals with Down syndrome. In 2007 more than 270 Buddy Walk™ events took place, over $9.5 million dollars was raised nationwide, and more than 230,000 individuals participated in a Buddy Walk™. However, since Grace is so little this year and Buddy Walk™ is during Conference, we decided to pass on it. Feel free to check out the website to locate a Buddy Walk™ in your area. We are so thankful for our little angel. Little Miss Grace, with a pretty face...we love you!
