My Pride and Joy
My kids never cease to amaze me. I love them both so much! They both have such fun personalities and they teach me something new everyday.
Grant, you love life! You are always so willing to help me do things. Your big, blue eyes that sparkle and catch everyone's eyes have so much love in them. You are kind, creative, loving and at times...
wild and crazy!!!
You have been such a trooper this past year. You never complain that you get dragged to therapy for Grace almost every day. You never complain that you get dragged to numerous doctor appointments or that you get ripped away from the painting you just began because mommy has to show another apartment. You are so patient with me while I attend to Gracie's needs and you are also so willing to help in any way. You were blessed with such a kind, sweet spirit.
You are the big brother of the year. Even when Gracie swats at you in excitement or tries to pull your hair, or rips your book out of your hand--you are patient. When she is crying because she doesn't want her pulse oximeter hooked to her foot because it cramps her style while she sleeps and eats, you calm her down and explain, "It's otay, sweetie!" And often times sing, "Rot (rock) a bye, don't you twy (cry)!" Grace is so lucky to have you by her side (as am I).
Also, you have so much faith in our Heavenly Father at such a young age. You know that He hears and answers prayers. I often find you folding your arms at random times throughout the day praying for something you want or need. I need to be more like you. Thank you for all you do for our little family. You astound me!
Grace, you seem to know what people need. It's like you can look into their eyes and sense what they long for and then bring them some kind of peace with your smile and the story that you tell with your beautiful eyes.
You are quick to forgive. You are the recipient of many bonks and bumps at the mercy of your active brother but you shake it off and cherish the moments when he apologizes with hugs and kisses.
You are determined to accomplish all that you can. You don't give up easily, although if you can find a way to "cheat" and make things easier--you are all for it.
Needless to say, you are smart! You can be a bit of a drama queen but we love it and wouldn't trade your "tude" for anything.
You are so blasted cute! Even when your hair isn't combed and you fall asleep with food all over your face because you are exhausted from working so hard at therapy.
You amaze us with all that you have accomplished your first year of life. Your hard work is paying off, Butterfly. But would you please stop pulling the door stops off the bottoms of the doors? Actually, go for it...you work hard to move yourself from place to place...if doorstops bring you happiness, let me put some more up. :-)

Such a sweet post and a wonderful tribute to your beautiful children. Grace looks so cute in her pigtails. What's up with the door stoppers...Ella has found every one in the house. She is obsessed with them!!
soo cute. I love what having a special needs child does to our other kids. It makes them more compasionate people. And everything you described Grace is is such typical DS traits. Don't you love them.
You have such beautiful babies! That was a great post you did and partly what I love about blogs is that years later you kids will be able to go back through and see all the neat stuff you wrote about.
Sweet post, Jaci. I love the pictures. Grace is the cutest thing ever!!! She has such twinkly eyes.
