Some of This & That

So you all know that Grant is hilarious...here are a few of the funny things he has done lately (at least we think they are funny):

* I asked Grant if he wanted to be a bat or a giraffe for Halloween. Without missing a beat, he put his pointer finger to his chin and said, "Hmmmm!" (FYI- he isn't going to be either. He will make his debut as a monkey).

*Poor Pres. Hinckley has been called a number of things at our house. Grant loves to look at Pres. Hinckley's picture and at first called him "Hinckey" and then "Hincks" and now he has moved to "Nincks". I think that he is regressing. However, nothing beats what Eliza (now 6yoa) called Pres. Hinckley when she was little and walked past his picture that was hanging on the fridge... "Humpty Dumpty". Yup, that's a classic.

* We read scriptures before bed every night as part of Grant's bedtime routine. We just started Doctrine and Covenants. We started using the books that have pictures because Grant seems to enjoy those more. Well, tonight we were reading about Joseph Smith (Grant calls him "Smath") as a child. There was a picture of Joseph with a sore on his leg. In a bit of a whiny voice, Grant said, "Owie?!?!" Followed by, "Kiss!" He gently bent down and kissed the picture and insisted that I do the same. This continued for about 15 minutes. Even while we were saying prayers Grant was telling me that Smath had an owie.

* We were at the park yesterday and there were some children speaking french. I was able to ask them a few questions in french (momentary gift of tongues) and when we left I said, "Au revoir!" Grant echoed that by saying, "Voir!" After that I decided to teach him how to say, "Chow" and I think it is his new favorite word.

* This morning we started counting in Spanish and Bug would copy us. We made it all the way to 10. Way to go Bug!
